What We Do
Club Projects
Candidates should already be accepted for entrance or enrolled in an educational institution before applying for a scholarship. Qualifying coursework includes undergraduate college level, postgraduate, continuing education, or coursework required for reentering the workforce.
Candidates should write a one-page letter (no attachments), to The Herndon Fortnightly Club explaining why the scholarship is needed, what career goals are being pursued and what academic institution you will be attending. Please include comments mentioning your extracurricular activities, community service, and academic standing.
To be considered the letter must contain your name, home address, email address and phone number and be emailed to scholarship@herndonfortnightlyclub.org.
Application letters must be received by May 16, 2026.
Birmingham Green Holiday Gift Bag Donations – Club members have donated gift bags filled with items that are enjoyed by the residents (word search books, adult coloring books, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, composition books).
Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp Hat Donation Project – Club members knitted 85 hand made hats to donate to the facility. This facility treats children and adolescents who have experienced mild to severe trauma or neglect, as well as behavioral and psychiatric disorders. It is located in Lignum, VA on a 270 acre horse farm.
